Corn on the Cob – Still in the Husk!

With the Labor Day Holiday a week away, and the summer growing season in high gear, I thought I’d share this easy recipe for Corn on the Cob.

You know it’s not fun to husk corn on the cob. Good luck recruiting your kids to do it. And can it be messy with the husks and corn silk getting everywhere. This is an easy recipes and kids love it (mostly because it requires no effort).

Simply place your corn in your oven at 350 F for 25-30 minutes and bake! That’s it! It will come out perfect. The inherent moisture steams the kernels while still in the husk! It also retains more flavor and more nutrients. It’s easier to husk and the silk comes right off without clinging everywhere. Kids think it’s cool to toss the entire corn into the oven.

Of course this works equally well on a hot grill and the flames won’t hurt the kernels inside. The singed husks look really neat too as the grill’s flames lick around them.

For additional taste you can add butter sprinkled with whatever spices you like. Go traditional with Sea Salt or Make it spicy Tex-Mex or Whatever! Just peel away a portion of the husk, add the spiced mixed butter, and close up the husk. The flavor will infuse the entire ear of corn.

There you have it!! Just a quick tip for your holiday weekend. Happy end of summer and welcome to the fall!
