Fruit Crisp

Time for fresh fruit! If you can, head to a “You Pick” farm to pick your own favorite fresh fruits & try this recipe.

Right now rhubarb is in prime season and it’s terrific in this crisp when mixed with other fruits or berries.

No matter what kind of fruit you do choose this recipe is a good source of fiber, Vitamin C, and other antioxidants. A perfect way to sweeten up a picnic or BBQ!

Fruit Crisp:

Mix together: 1/2 Cup sugar with 1 Tbsp of Unbleached All Purpose Flour.

Mix together with:
4 Cups Fresh Fruit (strawberries, peaches, blueberries, etc. by themselves or a mixture like strawberries with rhubarb or peaches with blueberries)

Put in a greased 9×9 pan.

Mix:
3/4 Cup Quick Oats
1/4Cup Flour
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon (optional)
1 tsp Vanilla Extract (optional)

Spread this mix over the fruit already in the pan. Melt 1/2 Cup Butter and drizzle on top of the fruit and oat mix.

Bake at 350. 20 minutes covered & about 25 minutes uncovered or until bubbly.

Enjoy warm by itself or put it over ice cream or frozen yogurt!
